          Description
Biography Allen Dean Cochran Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Allen Dean Cochran received his art training from two very notable artists of his day, that being Kenyon Cox of Ohio and Birge Harrison of Woodstock, both members of the National Academy. Cochran moved from Ohio to Woodstock where he became a member of the Woodstock Artists Association. He exhibited with that group and at the National Academy, Corcoran Gallery of Art, Art Institute of Chicago, and Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. He was also a member of the Salmagundi Club. Source: Covington Gallery Known for his winter scenes, here is an exquisite example of Cochran's talent and artistic vision with this summer piece. The application of paint is just beautiful to view in person and i tried to show that with my pics here. Looks to be an original period frame also. My art is derived in a variety of ways. I'm a responder. I respond to light, color, design, etc and I love painting both outdoors on location and in the studio under a controlled environment. I try to convey an idea, mood or just simply a beautiful setting. I'm inspired by a wide variety of subject matter and styles of painting and do not adhere to just one way. My paintings have won numerous awards over the years and have been collected both nationally and internationally. They can be found in three museum collections, the White House Collection and many private collections.
